STEVE COLYER COLYER

Steve Colyer a 1997 graduate of Fort Zumwalt South was a member of South's 1996 MSHSAA 2nd place finish in baseball. He went on to play professional baseball with the LA Dodgers, Atlanta Braves and the Detroit Tigers from 2003 to2007.

 

MELISAA GENTILE gentile with Dr. Jason Green

Melissa Gentile graduated from Wentzville Holt in 1996 and continued her education at the University of Michigan. At Holt, she was a 1995 All-State Softball pick, as well as All-District selection in softball in 1992, 1994 and 1995. At Michigan she was a 4 year letter winner and finished her softball career holding career (38) and season (13) home run records through 2004. She was selected Big Ten "Freshman of the Year" in 1997. She was an All Big Ten, Region and All-American in 1998. She was selected to the All-Tournament Team at the 1997 College World Series. She played on the USA Women's National Team from 1996 to 2000 and played professionally for the Akron Racers in 2000.

 

TOMMY LANE LANE

Tommy Lane finished his high school career at Fort Zumwalt South in 2003. As an outstanding high school pitcher he attended SWIC, Central Missouri State and then Mt. Olive of North Carolina. In 2007 he was an All-American with a 10-1 record. He was drafted in the 26th round by the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2007. Tommy made his Major League debut on August 14, 2012 with the San Diego Padres 7e played for the Boston Red Sox in 2014, 2015, and 2016, the New York Yankees in 2016 and 2017 and was a Triple A All-Star in 2014. He was in the LA Dodgers organization in 2017 and is now in the SL Cardinals system as of 2018 and 2019. He has a career ERA of 3.61 in 216 MLD appearances and 150 innings work. He recorded 137 strikeouts with an 8-5 record.

 

TODD JOERLING JOERLING

Todd Joerling was a Francis Howell graduate and a three sport athlete. He competed in football, baseball and basketball while at Howell. In football, Todd was 1st Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All District in 1980, followed by a 1st Team All-Confeernce and 1st Team All District selection in 1981. He ;played in the All-State Lions All Star game. In baseball, he was named to the 1st Team All-Conference, All District and All Metro as a pitcher. He was an All-Conference Honorable Mention player in basketball in both 1980 and 1981. As a 4-year baseball player at Southwest Missouri State University he was named Freshman Rookie of the Year and a Senior Captain of the team. As a softball player, Todd was a member of the USA National Softball Hall of Fame, the ISA Softball Hall of Fame, the NSA Softball Hall of Fame, the USSSA Softball Hall of Fame and the St. Louis Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of 13 National Championship Softball Teams, and was a member of the Inaugural 2009 Softball Team USA. He holds a .720 lifetime batting average, was selected 31 times as ALL-World, 7 time National batting title, 2 Gold Gloves and 1 Team World Series Batting Champion. Easton Sports honored Todd with the "Todd Joerling Signature Bat".
